Apple might be working on a new ‘Invites’ app
Apple is reportedly developing a new app called Invites, which could serve as a competitor to platforms like Evite or Partiful. This potential app, discovered through code in the iOS 18.3 beta 2 by 9to5Mac, aims to facilitate the sharing of event invitations for both in-person and online gatherings. Unlike the existing Calendar app’s invite functionality, Invites might allow users to create visually appealing event pages with detailed information and invitee lists for occasions such as birthday parties, weddings, and corporate events.
The app is expected to integrate with iCloud, potentially offering a web version on iCloud.com. Apple may also utilize its internal GroupKit framework to manage invitee groups and could release an iMessage mini-app for easier access. However, Apple has not officially confirmed or announced this project, leaving its release timeline uncertain.
